Itsumi

I was born in California, but lived most of my life in Guam. My interests are listening to music, dancing, watching movies/tv shows, and trying new foods from different cultures. Also I have an extreme love for dogs! I am interested in medicine because I want to eventually be able to medically serve underserved communities. I chose to do CURA because the program embodies everything I want to do, such as provide healthcare and other community services to underserved populations. I know the areas we are planning to travel to are in need of help/volunteers and healthcare. What I am seeking to get out of this trip are new experiences. First and foremost, I wanted to be part of CURA, whose focus is to help serve underserved countries by providing health care and education. I also wanted to be involved in this humbling experience and have the opportunity to help those in need. In addition, I am always eager to learn about new countries and differing cultures.
