I was born in Fairfax, Virginia and later moved to
Washington State at the age of two where I currently live near Seattle. Sports
that I have been involved in include figure skating, tennis, volleyball, and
dance. My other hobbies include traveling and my interest in dining.
Due to my interest in medicine, I am very passionate in helping
other in terms of providing health care needs. Project CURA had really
attracted me due to its goals of providing health care as well as health
education/primary prevention, which I feel is really important. This trip not
only allows us to provide health care but to immerse ourselves within the
cultures of the people who live in Cambodia, Indonesia, and Malaysia. This trip
will allow us all to broaden our perspectives on life to better understand the
diversity of individuals that we will be serving in our future.
Overall, I chose CURA for the hopes of gaining knowledge of
what is out there in other countries, of the culture of other countries, and
also of medical knowledge. I believe that my desire to help others, to act as a
leader and an educator, and to pursue my interest in the sciences has motivated
me with the enthusiasm and the determination to become a great physician.
