Oh hello there, welcome to my page. My name is Nathan and I
am a medical student here at sunny Creighton University, where people go. My
hobbies, in addition to saving lives, include playing the drums, walking, and
having very heated debates about the best methods of survival in a post
apocalyptic setting.
On a more serious level, I was born in North Carolina to a
military family (mother is Navy, father is Marine Corps) they now live in Logan
IA population <10. I went to Creighton for my undergraduate education in Chemistry
and have known I wanted to become a doctor from the age of 10. My goals are to
work as an anesthesiologist somewhere in the North West.
This mission will give me a chance to learn and practice
medicine in a very rural setting. In addition to teaching me about the culture
and how medicine is viewed in the East, it will allow me to understand how
people who do not see a physician on a regular basis react to westernized
medicine and thus, help me learn the best ways to assimilate my knowledge with
their culture. During this trip I hope to become more skilled in diagnosis and
treatment of many diseases that are not often seen in America but are very
prevalent in developing nations.
